Ask anyone to rattle off the names of ten famous lead guitarists and very quickly names such as Eddie Van Halen, Keith Richards, Richard Thompson, The Edge, Jeff Beck and scores of other men will roll off the tongue.
Ask someone to name ten great female lead players, and you'll hear "Well, um ...there's Bonnie Raitt and...um...er..."
Fear no more- this page will link you to the web sites of some of the world's highest-caliber female guitarists. While it's true that many women play guitar solidly, too many seem to strum only simple chord progressions, leaving it to the males to play those wild, single-string solo lines.
